Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Frametage collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It applies to the Frametage mobile app and the website at frametage.com (together, the “Service”), operated by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] (“Frametage,” “we,” “us”).
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account information. When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive a basic identity from that provider — typically your name, email address, and a unique account identifier. If you sign in with Apple and choose to hide your email, we receive Apple’s private relay address instead.
- Profile. A username and, optionally, an avatar and short bio.
- Content you create. Comments you post, clips you like, playlists you build, and — for creators — the videos and details you upload.
Information created as you use Frametage
- Activity. What you watch and for how long, your position within a collection, and the likes and comments you make. We use this to remember your place, power your library, and understand which films resonate.
- Anonymous sessions. You can browse before creating an account. In that state we assign an anonymous session so the Service works, without tying it to a real identity until you choose to sign in.
- Device & technical data. Device type and operating system, app version, general location inferred from your IP address, and diagnostic and crash data used to keep the app stable.
2. How we use your information
- Provide the feed and play the videos you request.
- Remember where you left off and maintain your library, playlists, likes, and comments.
- Curate and order collections, and surface directors and films you’re likely to want.
- Keep the community safe — reviewing flagged content and enforcing our Terms.
- Monitor reliability and diagnose errors so we can fix problems.
- Send you service messages, such as sign-in links or important notices about your account.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it to serve third-party advertising.
3. Signing in with Google and Apple
Frametage uses Google and “Sign in with Apple” to authenticate you. When you sign in, the provider confirms your identity to us and shares the basic profile fields described above. We do not receive your password. Your use of those providers is also governed by their own privacy policies. We request only the basic identity scopes needed to create and secure your account.
4. How videos are delivered
Videos and images are served through a content-delivery network using time-limited, signed links. This lets us stream media quickly and prevents unauthorized access to content, but it means your device makes requests to our media hosts as you watch.
5. Service providers we share data with
We share information with vendors who process it on our behalf, under contracts that limit them to providing their service to us. These currently include:
- Cloud hosting and database — to run the Service and store your account and content.
- Content delivery and media storage — to store and stream video and images.
- Identity providers — Google and Apple, for sign-in.
- Error and performance monitoring — to detect and diagnose crashes and issues.
- Email delivery — to send sign-in links and transactional messages.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or users’ safety, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets — in which case we’ll continue to protect it under this policy or notify you of any change.
6. Retention and deleting your account
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You can delete your account from within the app; when you do, we delete or de-identify the personal data associated with it, including your profile, playlists, likes, watch history, and saved items, except where we must retain limited records to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes.
7. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise the core of these rights directly — updating your profile and deleting your account in the app — or by contacting us at the address below. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
8. Children
Frametage is not directed to children under [MINIMUM AGE, e.g. 13], and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Security
We protect your information with encryption in transit, signed media links, and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to safeguard your data and to respond promptly if something goes wrong.
10. International transfers
We and our providers may process your information in countries other than your own. Where we transfer data internationally, we take steps to ensure it remains protected consistent with this policy and applicable law.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Service evolves. When we make material changes, we’ll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
